Our program
Personally known. Never just a face in the crowd.
Campers reading during Bible study

We are passionate about making sure each camper is personally known and celebrated during their week of camp. We commit to this because we are absolutely convinced that Christ-centered relationships change lives.

To build these close camp friendships, all our campers are placed in cabins of two counselors and 8–14 campers. This group does everything together — from Bible study to activities like swimming, sports, and nightly worship. In these small groups, campers are able to talk with their counselors and fellow campers deeply about faith, personal life, and exactly what superhero would be best at delivering pizza.

At Camp Joy, we are dedicated to helping children and youth dive into their relationship with God. Learning faith, just like learning a language, is best done through an immersion experience. At Camp Joy, campers will be immersed in scripture, song, and Christian community.

Our counselors will journey with their small group of campers through weekly Bible studies focused on the foundations of faith and a personal relationship with Jesus. We tie our lessons in with crafts and games to encourage our campers to live a Christ-like life that extends past the summer.

"I have the most amazing experiences at Camp Joy! I got saved at camp my first year, and I am always excited to see new campers being led to the Lord."
— Mallory A., returning camper
Our staff
Volunteers who show up because they believe in it.

We believe our best quality is our staff — each staff member is volunteering their time to be at Camp Joy. Volunteering a week (or more) of their time is a testimony to their dedication to Christ and serving the campers; they are the key to our relational ministry.

Their love for campers and dedication to helping them understand what living a life for Christ looks like never ceases to amaze us. Our trained counselors are positive Christian role models who encourage campers to make the most of their time at Camp Joy and hold onto the lessons they learn and the friends they make.

We interview and select exceptional and qualified Christian young adults who serve as camp counselors and other staff — activities, kitchen crew, media team, and more. Staff also complete a training session to ensure they are best prepared to help and serve during their time at Camp Joy.
